The rotary knob for draining the bath was missing when we moved in. The mechanism does work ie I have managed to rotate the spindle with a pliers and it raises/lowers the drainplug.

Presume the handle was attached to below. Any idea where I'd get a spare.
Would glue hold a standard one to the wee spindle yoke or how would I manage attaching it Help

Its not missing its broke. You will need to buy a new bath waste. I have kit and fit it. Dont buy a standard one with a chain it bobs around the whirlpool.

I am guessing next your going to tell me the side of the bath is tiled without access...

Drill it,tap it out and fit some other kind of handle to it.

u could take the trap off , put new push plug waste, leave the old no working overflow and connect it in to a new bath trap ... at least could could use the new plug to let water out of the bath

can't get to the trap as no access due to tiling. I know this is an issue in itself that needs to be tackled sometime down the road but I couldn't be arsed doing it now.
