    Hi there

I left my new iPhone 5 into a phone unlocking shop in Dublin last week and when I got it back , there were superficial scratches to the rear and side of the device that weren't there when i gave it in.

I'm pretty annoyed about this as I deliberately left it into them in a case to avoid this scenario and its an expensive piece of kit , so I'm wondering if I have any recourse here. The unlocking cost €60 so I think I have the right to expect the device to be treated with care.

can you prove the scratches weren't there before you left it in?

That unfortunately is going to be the crux of the problem. What did the phone shop have to say about the problem.

Are you even sure it's the same phone - did you record the IMEI before you handed it in?
