Tires Question

    Hi Guys,
I've a quick question about tires for my car. I'm driving an '04 Opel Astra. I've decided to get a new set of tires. (they're starting to look a bit worn). Anyway, I've never bought tires before and was hoping someone could give me a bit of a steer. The car currently has Bridgestones (Model is B250 195/65r15 91t).

I think that this means that they're 16". I was wondering what should I expect to get a full new set supplied and fitted?

Are they any brands that I should avoid or seriously consider?

Other than balancing, is there anything that I should expect done by the mechanic?

Has anyone used those call out services, where the mechanics swap the tires on your driveway? Any advise re these services, i.e. potential pitfalls..

Anyway, thanks in advance. I'd rather be running a set of good all-weather tires.

    195/65 15 91T is a 15 inch tyre.

195 is the width of the tyre in mm
65 is the height of the tyre expressed as a percentage of the width
15 is the diameter in inches
    91 is the load rating
    T is the speed rating

The good news is that 195/65 15 is a very common size which in turn means it is a relatively cheap size.

You can Bridgestone tyres in that size for €80 each fitted and balanced. That is only €20 more than cheap Chinese crap tyres so if I were you I would be going for something like the Bridgestones.

    Avoid cheap chineese brands.
Consider something as good as you can afford.

Grease the studs so they won't get seized maybe?
