Seat kicking on Planes and in Cinemas

Nothing worse then this to be sat in a seat that some kid is kicking and the parents do nothing.

What is even worse is an increasing number of adults do this too.

Lastly why do people go to the cinema and then proceed to use the internet on their phone for the entire film?

Maybe they have no interest in the film but their partner has so went along to keep them company or for a quite life.

I have no problem telling any kids to not kick my chair or run into me in a coffee shop when I'm holding coffee.

So they go along under protest like a child.

Remember years ago some children that got fed up when out for a meal would have a gameboy along with them now many adults are the same.:D

What you get is gameboy swapped for an Iphone.:D

As someone with quite long legs, it's easy enough to accidentally bang my knee off the seat in front of me in most cinemas and especially on planes.

But that would only happen once or twice: to keep doing it is just inconsiderate.

Threaten to eat them. Usually works.

What if you had just recovered from cancer treatment and went on a holiday or a cinema trip and somebody was kicking your seat?:p

I have no problem telling off cancer if it is kicking my seat in the cinema.

If there is a child sitting behind you in the cinema kicking your chair then I usually find that you're watching a film you're too old for, or the child is too young for the film you're watching. :D

Seat kickers received the patented Anonoboy 'Turn Around and Stare'. If that doesn't work a curt, "Stop kicking my seat." usually does the trick.

Because they're uncultured, inconsiderate swines with the attention span of gnats.

'Cos we've turned our living rooms into home cinemas and our cinemas into living rooms.

I can handle phones(its their own problem if they are wasting their money paying to see a film) and someone kicking the back of my seat, but these assholes that come into the cinema and have full scale LOUD conversations the whole bloody way through the film drive me mental!!

What has that got to do with anything I learned how to behave in public places from the time I was about five.

I was placed between two small children on a flight to London once. The two kids fought fought and threw crap at each other for most of the flight, mainly hitting me. I said it to the air hostess who said there was nothing she could do. Eventually I figured out the mother was sitting behind me so I asked her to swap, she replied 'no thanks, i could do with the break'. I was speechless.

You should have started giving out to the children and telling them how Santa doesn't exist.

    Get your money's worth.

I had an incident a few years back. Myself and my ex girlfriend went to watch a film and the row behind us was full of small children. During the course of the film on a few occasions I could feel kicking in the back of the seat and in due course informed a member of staff. I made a complaint (as both of us suffers from bad backs for different reasons) and I was satisfied with the outcome. Of course part of the complaint procedure of the cinema in question was to inform the responsible adult for the group of small children. The staff of the cinema in question were happy to do this on my behalf.

In closing I wish to inform the numerous users of this website of the lesson I learned on that occasion. Don't go to the cinema on the day the tickets are cheap especially during school holidays.

(NOTE: I am aware that this may not solve the problem of the OP or any other poster on this thread I am merely giving my experience of this matter)

It's not just their problem though.

The light from a phone is a fairly obvious distraction to anyone sat behind the fools who play with them during a screening.

I've told people to switch off their phones when they've done that.

    It's ridiculous!
You've paid the guts of €30 for two tickets and someone thinks they need to post on Facebook on their blindingly bright retina burning Apple display or Samsung AMOLED or whatever.

I don't know why people are so shy about telling someone to cop on!

Some kids were throwing food down the cinema recently (including flicking soft drinks at people with the straw)

I went out any told the manager to either remove them or refund our tickets.

She sent in two ushers and threw them out and restarted the movie at the start too (was about 10 mins in)

People need to stop being such total wusses!

    What Cinema was that?

Getting rid of the offenders and restarting the film good job.

Yes and did I blame anybody for this?

All I said was people should not be looked down on for living a single life.

    Yeah - started a page.

Like if you want to cure cancer, ignore if you want your seat kicked.

Was at the cinema once in seats at the right and this guy about 10 rows down in the middle section had his phone on his knee and kept pressing a button every 3 mins or so and it would light up for about 30 seconds. Got to the stage where I couldn't even keep an eye on the film cus I couldn't understand why he was even doing it!!! So annoying!

If someones on the phone in the cinema just go out and inform the manager that someone is recording the movie on their phone. Once the manager comes in you'll see that phone gone in a flash, and it will teach them some manors.
