I am thinking about going to Copenhagen for a few days in May.

Can anyone who has been tell me what they thought of the city?

The only minus point I found was that it was pretty expensive.

Otherwise I'd go back in a heartbeat which I have been planning to do for some time. With Aer Lingus and SAS in competition on the route you can get good deals on airfares. There is a lot to do in the city, the people are very friendly. The day trip to Malmo over the Öresund is a must as are the Tivoli Gardens... It will be beautiful in May.

I'm just back from Copenhagen, loved it! :D It was pretty cold and quiet for tourists last week but I'd imagine it will be really nice in May. I would recommend the Guinness book of records museum was good fun with a lot of interactive stuff to do.

If you havnt booked accomadation and looking for a hostel I would definately book the Generator hostel if it's available. Its the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Very central and great place for meeting new people with a nice lobby and bar. In terms of nightlife you can find some cheap places and these were the busiest too, the LA bar and Wall street. Cheesy spots but the best for a crowd.

Lovely city. If you're in a group, take an evening out and do the Tivoli Gardens, lots of restaurants and lovely atmosphere. Because of the latitude and the time of year you're talking about, it probably won't get dark until well after 10 p.m. so you'll have loads of time to wander around and explore the city.

Best advice is to do half the time in Copenhagen and then the other half in Malmo which is about half an hour away.

That's two countries, two currencies and 2 cool places

Was in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago myself, great spot. Also stayed in the Generator, would definitely recommend it. When I came home I wanted to go back once the weather improved, jealous of you going in May.

It is expensive, you're talking €7 a pint in most place, but there's just a lovely vibe in the city. Eating out is also expensive, one thing to consider is the "normal" places are not that much cheaper than the fancy places. For example, we went to http://www.cocksandcows.dk/ which was grand but really just a slightly fancier eddie rockets whereas if we had gone here (like I wanted to) http://restaurant-relae.dk/en we could have had an amazing meal for not very much more.

I am going to Copenhagen shortly for a weekend booze up with a group of about 10 lads and we are also staying in the Generator so it's nice to hear positive reports. Just wondering though, did anyone go to the Carlsberg visitor centre and what was it like? Also can anyone recommend any good daytime bars for watching sports and getting decent grub?

    Thanks
