Delon Armitage to Leinster - confirmed

Delon Armitage agrees two year contract with the province...

Leinster Rugby are pleased to announce the signing of England international Delon Armitage on a two-year contract, beginning next season. The England fullback (capped 26 times) is currently on the books of Top14 league leader Toulon who are still in the hunt for both domestic and European silverware.

Commenting on Armitage's arrival, Leinster head coach Joe Schmidt said: "Isa Nacewa was always going to be a difficult man to replace but the management and I are confident that we're have secured the player to do just that. We are confident Delon will fit in well with the Leinster environment and quickly become a fan favourite here. He is a vastly experienced player at both club and international level and will provide an option at wing, centre and fullback."

Delon Armitage said: "I am delighted to have secured my playing future with Leinster Rugby. Joe Schmidt is a renowned head coach and I am looking forward to working with both him and his management team. I am excited to become part of a squad full of world class players who will no doubt help me improve my game. I have big boots to fill with Isa Nacewa's departure and I look forward to the challenge. I cannot wait to show the amazing Leinster support the type of player I am".
