You can't be that good with computers, you seem to be having trouble using the keyboard.

    Ya little rapscallion!

Forging any government document is a crime. Typing something "very small in the corner" is not the same as clearly marking the document as a fake.

Im sure yer ass will be handed to ya.

Basi lly im good with computers so my mate asked me 4o make him a fake id.I used a irish drivers licences template and changed all the numbers ect.I also wrote novelty id very small in the cornor and on the edges and not offical ect.It turned out decent. (This isnt illegal becausd I clearly stated that it isnt an offical government document or issued id.) Basicly im wonderin what would happen if he got caught with it, or using it.what would the punishment be.

You quite sure your that good?

Here now.I typed small.but clearly along the bottom."not an offical government document, for novelty use".so basicly as long as isnt taken out of the plastic pouch it looks good, once out clearly says its fake. Also, can the gardai randomly search you.being under 18.And if he bought drink in ashop, and was walkin down the street with it and the gardai asked where he got it, and said he got someone to go into the shop for him what would they do???

My mate handed a print of a €20 note into an off license. He made it a fair but bigger than a real one and it was blank on the back... apart from the words f**k off in big red letters.

I've honestly no idea why he made it but your man behind the counter stuck it in the till and gave him his change.
    Your mate should be grand.

Drivers licence are not government I'd they are dept of environmentof transport. Not sure of the trouble you would be in, but what we did was use letter transfers to scratch over real licences so once your old enough for a moped your sorted

Er, you can't absolve all responsibility for a crime by writing "novelty" in the corner. I might as well start printing money and write "lol jk" in the corner of each note in tiny writing.
Modifying a government document in order to defraud someone is forgery and is illegal. This falls under the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act, 2001, and carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail. That applies directly to you since you created it.

No I am correct, Ireland does not have a government ID. Both the passport and the driving licences are department IDs which are not government ID. A government ID would be like the identity cards in France

I have it says its belongs to the department of foreign affairs, a national identity card which Ireland does not have would be regarded as a government ID
