Did you not check that when buying if golf is that important?
You could let one of the rear seats down if placing them diagonally doesnt suit you.
    Alternatively get another car.

Are you serious? How do you think that can be done without actually swapping the car for something bigger?

On the current A4, it is closed in, take those panels out either side, larger boot ?

There are a fair few control boxes and fuses etc inside those side panels. Wouldnt ve advisable to start leaving stuff around them as you could damage a connector or something. Might be easier to change the golf bag.

I have no problem fitting clubs in a 2011 model passat.

Have you tried to take just the driver out of the bag?

The OP has an A4 though not a Passat. The A4's boot is not nearly as big as the Passat's.

Take the woods out and put them in separate. Doing this you could fit the lot into a Micra. And what's a big deal about having the bag diagonal?

Check over on the golf forum, pretty sure there is a thread on clubs with telescopic handles. Sounds like what you need.

I've seen this a few times. Audi have an aftermarket solution to it. You can bring your car to an Audi dealer and get a new boot lid that fits your car. It extends beyond your current boot and a bit wider. For all intents and purposes its pretty much like an Audi body extension kit. It matches with bumpers/side panels etc and doesn't look out of place. It more or less gives you an A6 size boot on an A4.

It's more common in the USA but Audi can get the parts in here in Ireland if you go into a dealer and ask. As far as I know its fairly reasonable too. It's a matter of swapping panels/boot lid etc and its' done. Just make sure you know your paint/colour code so they can match it.

I just did some googling on it too. To go from the A4 to A6 size boot you need to specify the 1d10t upgrade spec to get the right parts for your car.

He might be better with the A8 bootsize upgrade though, I think the code for that is Fo-01 but you'll need to call Audi Ireland today to avail of a special offer.

There is a special hydraulic jack that can be placed in the boot. It stretches the metal on each side. Only 40mm ( about an inch and a half ) on each side of the car can make all the difference. There is a special discount rate available for irish golfers. If you western union me a booking fee deposit I'll set it all in motion for you.

If you read the quote I was replying to, the Op asked if the passat's boot was bigger.
