why arent the council removing the travellers that are camped up illegally near eire og, up at end of 'the road to nowhere'.
Theyve been there for a good 3 weeks now, and after all the good work by the council along the river there, you cant walk there any more cos of vicious dogs and there idiot owners, the dumping is also shocking from them, along with their human waste. such a shame, it was looking great and would have been nice coming into the summer months

It is most likely that they can't remove them because that part of road has no bye-laws attached to it. The council would have to go to court, possibly the high court to get them removed.

They moved in on a bank holiday weekend of course when there is nobody that could do anything about them working in any council offices for at least 4 days.

Its bloody disgraceful .If we left the front of our homes looking like this we would be getting letters/visits from the council pretty quick !!!.What about littering laws ,dog and horse licensing,, Health and safety issues.Trespassing.Illegal parking.Road worthiness of vehicles, tax and insurance.People all around Carlow town do a great job keeping estates and such clean and tidy. The council spend a lot of money keeping areas clean,But then this is allowed to happen. Some one in authority should grow some balls and deal with this immediately.:confused:Then again you have to be careful what you say or its discrimnation/racism.

The litter warden is off sick and god only knows what other areas he gets paid to enforce, dog and horse licencing etc? Realistically there is nothing that can be done with people who don't recognise or live by the laws and rules of state and society except take a zero tolerance stance and jail every one that breaks the law.

They moved onto that site illegally but because there is no wittness or video footage of that they cant be arrested for any crime even though there should be enough evidence in their being on the location!

If you or I pulled up on the side of the road,we wouldnt be there long before some-one would be calling to say move on,,or else.Like i said authorities should grow some balls and deal with this before it costs a lot of money to clean up the mess .Its someones property,so they are trespassing so why is it sorted out bythe "Authorities".
