say 6 months between use, I hate throwing out a bottle that has 1/4 left, and the price of it. . . surely we all have left overs, what do ye do lads?

If you don't introduce contamination stick a blob of Vaseline on the bung and reuse. You could just use the one needle for withdrawing and another for injection.
