Hi, I hope I'm in the right forum here.

My mother has an old stenorette that her father used to dictate letters and things onto and she has a reel belonging to him that she'd love to hear. She's missing the power cable for it though.

My question is does anyone have any idea where I might be able to find a replacement (see pic) or else can anyone recommend somewhere to transfer the reel contents onto a disc.

    Thanks!

Re trying to find a power cable, try trawling ebay. Slim chance of finding one though.

Transferring contents to a cd or mp3 format may be more preferable as the tape may wear out with repeated use. Maybe one of the techie forums may be more suitable for advice?

If you can't source a mains cable for it i could certainly transfer the tapes to CD or whatever if you supply the tape player. The mains cable is not a problem for me.

I just saw your inquiry about a Stenorette, of course three years or so late, but I have a working Grundig Stenorette that I used in my court reporting business for many years. It's still in great shape.
