Living in San Fran alone

    Hi folks

Heading to the city by the bay in late may or early June until the middle of October.

Ill be just finished final year in college and on a j1 which will hopefully be converted to a H-2B seasonal visa by my employer who has said they'll do this if possible.

I'm working on pier 39 and need somewhere to stay ideally nearby.
Not mad on staying alone but would stay in a homestay house with a family.
I'd consider staying with a group of fellow j1 students even if that only took me until September.

Anyone any help with this? Iv been looking but nothing seems to fit the budget of about $600-800 a month.
Links to groups of individuals doing the same would be great as I can't find any. Or any helpful links to homestays or even rooms to rent near the pier. I can't find much at all!!

Be prepared to pay! Rent on the Bay Peninsula is the highest in America, even higher than Manhattan. Oakland is a cheaper deal, although I'd imagine that the commute sucks.
