Calf with chill

    have a 6wk old suckler calf thats outside looks a bit miserable due to cold(humpy and bit scoury).

    normally get something from vet but not going to bother him on a sunday.

    have penicillin and oxy 10 at hand, will either suit for above as im going to house him and mother later.

    not sure what the vet normally gives for this complaint, would be useful have a bottle at hand for again if this weather continues.

    Was at the vets today collecting a bottle of stuff that was left out for me and there was stuff there for four other farmers.

    Dont be a bit afraid to ring he wont mind in the slighest. (unless hes a ******)

    Not much to eat outside yet, maybe the mother has very little milk. I`m giving the cows I have out about 2kgs of beef ration, its not much buts puts milk in the udder for the calf

    A shot of vitacel and usually whatever is around. Most times we keep a few bottles. I always call the vet if theres anything i dont feel up to scratch on and try to see what they use.

    give the vet a ring, i would give some bimastat anyways and see what vet says
