Is that the 7000 model ?

    Screen doesn't seem very good,

Here's another review, entry level tablet but again the screen is resistive :

That's a piece of crap. Wouldn't have been good two years years ago.

Might as well invest a few more bob and get a quality tablet that will stand the test of time.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" 8GB for €189 with a free 8GB microSD card at Curry's. Could probably get it cheaper elsewhere.

You could try Amazon's price, £148(€175) and create a demand with Flubit for an even cheaper price.

That's a brilliant tablet and an absolute bargain. It's got Jelly Bean aswell, the tablet in the OP seems to still be rocking Eclair or Froyo i.e. it's been left behind and is completely outdated.

Seriously, it's worth spending the extra cash on a tablet that won't give you nightmares and headaches. I've come across cheap Android slates before and they're rarely anything but trouble.

EDIT: Though I will say it appears to have a mini HDMI which is quite handy. Not all tablets, even the good ones, have that.

The amount of false economies surrounding tablets is unbelievable. Sister-in-law got cheap rubbish tablet at Christmas notwithstanding me insisting for her to get a Nexus or Samsung. The yoke she got has an appalling screen and is unbelievably slow. Result: she now uses here laptop and never touches the crappy tablet and a lesson learned.

That's awful logic. Her tablet is bad because she doesn't know anything about buying tablets, not because of the price. You can get a tablet just as good as a Nexus or Samsung for a lot cheaper if you know what you're buying. What I hate more are people who buy a tablet because it is a Nexus or Samsung. "Oh it says Samsung on it, it must be the bestest!!!11"

Also OP the first thing you should check when buying a tablet is if it has a resistive screen. If it does, don't buy it.

No point in making a statement like that unless you can provide a link or reference. Lots of people can't tell what is or isn't a good tablet, laptop, PC etc.
If you know a good buy then tell us.

Most of the "HOT" cheap tablet deals on their have nothing but bad reviews to be honest. I think if you want cheap buy a chinese model from ebay.

In fairness, I got one of the Focalprice tablets from the Bargain Alerts thread. It was only because I went digging through it looking for some technical info that I discovered they'd switched it for a similar looking tablet, but with less storage, RAM, slower CPU. They accepted they sent me the wrong tablet, but then refused to replace it and tried to fob me off, ended up having to request a chargeback. I'd wonder how many other people got an inferior model but never noticed.

I'd agree you can get a decent tablet with paying for a brand name, but there are a lot of dodgy sites out there too.

Was that the approx €40 tablet from focal price MOH? how did you cop they had sent a lesser model... must have a look see to check if they did same to me... what do we look for?

(Also, on a side note... was pissed off like a few others when that thread was closed... it could have been a great place to find more info on that particular tablet and roms for it and what peeps did with theirs... but it was shut because the offer expired and also there were muppets ruining it with "where is my tablet and how do i track it" questions every second post!)

not really - screens in cheap tablets have extremely poor viewing angles

actually choosing tablet is simple - if it has an ips screen and is under €100 it usually is a good buy, if they don't mention it is ips it isn't

or if you want to spend more than that €100 go for nexus or galaxy tab depending if you prefer better screen or more storage

I got the Ramos W28 for my sister for 70 euro, arrived on Wednesday and she loves it.

Found it thanks to lads below/

Just been looking up on that tablet. Seems a better deal. Most reviews say the screen is more responsive than this Heatons deal.

I am thinking of picking one up tomorrow if I do I will post a review. Some of the info seems to be bs on it online, if I get one I will test it out first before I post.

It wasn't the original one in the first post that thread, it was mentioned as a better alternative a couple of pages in.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but I've details on the differences I found and how I found them in this Consumer Issues thread.
