05 Focus Fan problem (NOT what you think!)

    I presume a more ususal complaint would be the fan won't kick in, not this time :confused::confused:


    When I take the keys out, the fan continues on & kills the battery, any idea what the problem might be? Sensor or something?


    Please don't say its anything big!

    Its herself's car :o

    Not knowing a lot about these but I'm gonna guess the thermostatic switch on the rad is stuck closed.

    It's a cheap part afaik an easy enough to install yourself.

    i'm sure those in the know will correct me. There's a guy on here called George Dalton (I think) he'd have a good idea I'd be willing to bet.

    I think your right, did a bit of reading and its either the switch is stuck closed or a relay problem...

    That OR something terrible awaits :(

    It can only be something like the switch or relay. "Something terrible" would have different symptoms.
