The first qualifying competition of the 2013/14 National Pike Championships will be held on Sunday 7th April. The championships consist of 10 independent qualifying competitions, a stewards qualifier and the Final. The top 5 anglers from each qualifier get to fish in the Final. The top angler in the Final will become the National Pike Champion and will Captain the top 10 anglers in the Final in an International Team Challenge.
The stewards qualifier is for competitors who act as stewards at at least 4 qualifiers and weigh at least 8 pike and who dont qualify at one of the regular qualifiers. They are reminded that the must hand in their stewards card (with their name on it) at the end of the qualifier even if they have no fish recorded on it.
Interested anglers should check in at Lynch`s Bar on the Cootehill/Ballybay Road from 9.30 for fishing 11 to 4. To enter you must be a member of one of 70+ clubs affiliated to the Irish Federation of Pike Angling Clubs. If you are not a member of one of these clubs you can join one at the check in from €10 for the year. The entry fee is €15 and there is a €5 optional pool for the top 3 pike.
