Is this a good deal for Canon 550D?

There is a Canon on offer with Groupon today, Canon EOS 550D 18MP DSLR with 2 lenses for €620. Is this is a good price for this camera (it says 25% off)? The two lenses are EF-S 18-55mm and Canon EF 75-300mm lenses.

For extra money you can buy the Canon case, Canon battery & Patriot 32GB memory card (goes up to €698).

I am seriously tempted as my old point & click Olympus has served me well but is near retirement! Plus it's only 8MP.

I am getting married later this year and would love a decent camera in time for the honeymoon, thinking if I buy now then I will have a few months to get to grips with a DSLR and play around with it! Is €620 a decent offer? Do you think it is worth paying extra for the case, battery and memory card?
    Thanks!

It looks like a pretty good price, you would pay 720 or so for the camera and bot lenses new (via amazon) at the moment.
If you wanted cheaper you'd probably be looking at second hand gear.

Haven't dealt with askdirect before so I can't comment on them.

Looks like a good deal, its probably gone end of life with Canon so someone is clearing stock. Great camera and those lens will have you will covered for learning.

I did the same before my Honeymoon and if anything I regret not getting the camera sooner so that I could have had a better handle on using it. My other regrets from honeymoon was not buying a few big mem cards in advance and not shooting in RAW but thats not for everyone.

Thanks all, I have ordered it now so will probably be spending a fair bit of time on this forum in the next few months!

Congrats on your new purchase. It's a good camera. I paid over €700 for my 550D nearly 2 years ago, so that's a good deal you got.

Cheers, yeah it always helps to get a few quid off, especially with a wedding coming up! Can't wait to get the camera now, and get out & about with it.

Its a good deal but those lenses aren't great. The 18-55 max aperture is 3.5 which is useless in low light . I would get a canon 50 mm 1.8 which looks like a toy but is actually a good lense. Get one second hand for 80€. As for getting to grips those cameras take great photos in auto, they're just not very creative but they will look good.
