Helicopter Traffic

    Morning,

I'm just up and I opened my curtains only to see a Coast Guard Helicopter making a run along the coast at around 500-1000ft. Couldn't be any higher if I'm honest but I was wondering how does one go about finding where the helicopter is heading to and maybe why? FlightRadar24 and Planespotter don't have them. Any suggestions welcome :)

Only traffic you 'll see on flight radar 24 is commercial high level stuff carrying ADS B gear...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_dependent_surveillance-broadcast

If you're in the Louth area it was the Dublin chopper taking part in the search for an elderly man who's been missing for a week.

Where did you find this source of info? I'd like to know about it more when there is other helicopter flights nearby on the shore.

Try RTE or other media outlets, there is NO public source for information like this. The vast majority are training flights and on the occasion that it is something different it might be reported in the media.

Saw a Bell 222 near the Dublin Mountains a few times recently. Anyone know about this one?

Most of the time, there is nothing said. I would've imagined there was a source of info for the public.

Coast Guard facebook do a good job of keeping the public up to date with their activity.

    This too shall pass.

I think I just saw the 2 Garda choppers cross each other

Been hearing one cirlce the Charlestown area in Dublin for a few mins, finally saw it heading East but then I saw the other one heading North to the airport crossing it's path.
The first one is still circling.

Anyone know what's up? Or maybe the second one wasn't GASU..
