Toyota yaris problem

Bought a 2005 Toyota Vitz (yaris) two months ago. After driving it a short distance the engine warning light came on and when stopped at lights or parking the car shake vigorously as if it was going to cut out but never does.

To cut a long story short I brought it back to garage and had it plugged in to see what the fault was. It's showing up as a sensor for air intake into the engine. This was replaced but the problem still persists.

The emgime warning light now comes on after driving a short distance and same thing happens again when slowing down the car to stop.

Garage can't fix the problem. Anyone help?

I should add its a 1.0 litre automatic import. Has 106k on the clock

    Thanks

I think you'd get a better response in the motors forum

Press the home button and the power button together and wait 'til the screen goes blank. It should reset itself.

...and it comes on when slowing down?!!!

Smile! I hope you can find a garage with a couple of younger mechanics.
