Just came across this a few minutes ago. It's pretty messed up. It seems alot of Banking cards these days have a little chip inside them called RFID (radio frequency ID tags) But apparently, they make stealing your credit card info 10 times more easier.

Mythbusters even did a show about it. But Visa & Mastercard threatened legal action. So Discovery had to pull the episode. Here is a video explaining how easy it is to steal your info:

And as you guessed it folks, Irish banks such as Bank of Ireland already have them ( Link )

So yeah .... i'd be careful if you have one :pac:

    Tin foil wallets for everyone;)

You can get wallets with faraday cages in them for this reason.

Stupid idea in the first place. I'm sure there's some additional levels of security added since that video was made but it's still a moronic idea.

Convenience over security, without any real convenience benefit.

NFC on HTC phones does this. I have it but never use it. Bit of a gimmick... I suppose it would be useful if you left your wallet behind.

well heres the thing, if the security experts make everything secure then they are out of a job, so its a bit like the way stuff nowadays is built NOT to last, otherwise you cant buy more if the one they give you is too good
