    Hey,

I got called to an interview for a store assistant in lidl next Thursday.
I'm just wondering what they typically ask at the interview and what the '15 minute aptitude test' consists of?

I'm also wondering what they are like to work for and if they still pay as well as they used to?

    Thanks

    Hi everyone,

My first post here and I have an interview tomorrow for this same position and found this thread titled "Lidl Interview" which gives the information about the aptitude. Cannot post links as it doesn't allow me.

After the interview tomorrow, I will post the explanation about how it was.

Where is your interview for if you don't mind me asking and is the interview in the actual store? I've applied for a Store Assistant job recently so I'm just curious. Feel free to PM the answer or don't answer at all if you do not wish to, I don't mind! :)

    @Boeing777

It's somewhere in Gormanstown for Store Assistant. And it's not in the actual store.

    Hey,

Had the interview yesterday for Store Assistant position and it was okay. It was a set of general interview questions with a Senior Manager working in Lidl for 6+ years and a recently appointed Deputy Manager of the store I was assigned to. It was followed by a 15 minute numerical test which was really easy.

    Questions asked were –

    1) Please tell me about yourself, your experience
    2) Why Lidl?
    3) What are your views about hard work?
    4) How do you relate your previous experience with the current Store Assistant position?
    5) Where do you stay and how far are you from the assigned Lidl store?
    6) How are you going to manage the travel? We may need you at 6AM and sometimes operations might go on till 11PM. Do you have a valid driving license?
    7) I can see a referee here in your CV, but he’s from a different country where you worked earlier. Can you provide me with an Irish reference instead?
    8) What are you doing currently and how much time can you dedicate? Are you flexible? If selected, we will start off with 10hrs a week and depending on you and your availability and can go to 35-40 hrs later.
    9) Have you gone to a Lidl store ever? Which one is your most visited one? How do you find it? After I gave my positive and negatives on this, he asked me about my suggestion on improving on the negatives.

This covers all the majority and important questions he asked. Last question might be the most important as it shows creativity and helps you stand out from the rest if answered well.

About the numerical test, it was a very simple level Maths, something I must have covered in school by the age of 10. 22 multiple choice questions. 5 out of them were like how much is 12.5 added to 2.5? Next few were like if a customer bill total is €2.77 and he gets a 30% off the entire bill, how much in the final amount?

Another one was like - There are 3 racks in a fridge, all at different levels and there are various eatables kept on these racks. Apple is above Eggs, Eggs are below Milk, Cream is above Milk. So, which eatable is on the middle level? Which eatables are on the same level?
Second last one was like a figure consisting of various rectangles, something like below and how many 4-sided figures are present in the figure?

Last one was, if the day coming after the day after tomorrow is 4 days before Monday, what day is it today?

That was all. I found the overall interview okay and if selected we shall be starting off in a couple of weeks.

Cheers and Good luck to anyone joining in :-)

The pay is 10.50 then after 6 months goes up to 11.15 then 12 then 12.50 with time and a half on sundays and time and a quarter for early starts which is before 7am..Your expected to work hard and fast..everything is fast no wasting time in lidl..if your doing the warehouse shift be expected to start as early as 3am

    Yes kdave2,

I think there are lots of people now competing for the same jobs so they obviously have the upper hand now, selecting and demanding every small thing in the world!! :-(
