Im getting older.... and new kids on the scene... so my beautiful office with PC and comfy chair is getting shipped out to be replaced by a cot and teddy bears for the new arrival!!
Having researched this a lot Ive decided I need a Mac Mini in my life to hook up to the telly in my bedroom.
Its small which is vital ... quiet... another necessity.... and offers everything my PC does... as a fella in a shop told me recently "it would be much quieter than ur PC which I guess sounds like a mini helicopter !!!" ...and he is right!

My question waiting for the Mini to arrive is....

would I be able to link into the Mac Mini using my Mac Book Pro ?? and if so how does that work ???

    cheers peeps.

What do you mean by "link in" ? Do you mean control the Mini from the MBP or simply access files ?

You can use Screen Sharing to control any Mac from any other Mac over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, you can also share files and devices between them too. If you can be more specific then I'm sure you'll get all the help you need.

Yes basically I want to know if I can control the Mac Mini from my Macbook pro.... as hooking it up to my VGA screen will take leads etc... and itll be quicker to just access it from Laptop ???

    Thanks Ken

Ya-Boy-Ya what specifically do you want to do, a wireless keyboard and trackpad will allow you to directly control it rather than using screen sharing. Even better your iphone/ipad (if you have one) can use one of the free vnc screen sharing apps to also control the mac mini, stick a fair chunk of RAM in it and it'll even virtualise windows very well.

And congrats on the new arrival.

Instead of hooking it up to the telly in my bedroom it would be just handy to run it from my MBP.... I see now I can do that so ... happy days
