Downloading Facebook messages

    Is there a way to download messages from Facebook?

    With boards there is an option to export PMs in an excel or word file I think, I was just wondering if there is a similar option for Facebook?

    I don't think there's a way to just get messages, you'll have to download a complete copy of your data. Messages are included as part of this - https://www.facebook.com/help/405183566203254.

    Log in to your Facebook account, choose the gear icon on the top right of the screen, choose "Account Settings" then click "Download a copy of your Facebook data." to start the process.

    It should only take a minute or two depending on your connection speed, my backed up facebook info is 11MB (It downloads as a zip file)

    Thanks a million. I thought it'd take a lot longer than a few minutes lol. I've a UPC 50 meg connection, hope the data comes through soon :)
