    hi,
saw that there are a couple of these evening courses in cork, one in st johns college and one in stiofan naofa. has anyone been on one of these courses and if so can you tell me what you thought of it and the stuff you did on it. hoping to do one when they're on again, assuming they'll start again in autumn

I did one in Tralee. Was very take it or leave it. Unless you are getting to do things yourself or t the very least they have a lift for demonstrations I wouldnt be too bothered. I learned more from my Haynes manual.

yeah i've emailed both places to see what they actually do on the courses. would only do it if there was a lot of hands on stuff.

You'd want to be fairly clueless to learn anything at one of these, they are very limited and cover only the basics.

I did one of these a few years ago. I do my own servicing since then, but that's all really, it doesn't cover things like brakes etc. but good enough for me

Would youtube not be handier? Just search the job you want to do and you will get a diy surely. It's fairly simple.

Indeed Jer, before 10am this morning I had no idea where a thermostat on an e46 might even be but after a 5 min youtube video I now know how to fit one
