And grandons in cork are doing the same. I'm driving a recent pug at the moment and wouldn't blame them to be honest......

I love the new 208 and the 508 as well. According to webste they still sell Pugs.

3008 auto is the biggest heap of steaming dung I've driven since the original Kia Sportage.

Strange as toyota Ireland aren't a fan of multi franchise dealers

Well they certainly look ugly...ill proportioned or something. Seen a few on steel wheels and they look especially bad.

As jacked up hatches go this would be alright with a decent engine and a manual box. Much nicer to travel in than a Nissan cashcow too. But the 1.6 diesel auto is getting later 30s MPG on long spins and that's according to the computer. I'd prefer not to work it out as the cost to depression ratio would be overwhelming.

Fitzpatricks in Tullamore switched to Hyundai from Toyota a few months back as well.

Kearys of Midleton are no longer a Toyota dealer, Renault now.

    Why is this happening?

Combination of things, Toyota took a hard line on dealers selling and servicing other brands, some dealers went bust, and there are too many dealers competing for a declining market so being a Toyota dealer isn't as attractive as a business as it once was

Makes sense. I think Grandons of Glanmire got that Toyota slot. They were always a big seller of cars when they were a Fiat dealer and later Peugeot.

I would imagine that its getting increasingly harder to sell Corolla/Auris/Avensis against the competition - can't be too big a wrench for the dealers who move to another franchise.

Id say they will have a lot less unhappy customers coming back with problems now!

Offers like 3 years free servicing don't help, toyota Ireland footing the bill for the servicing but at way lower rate than retail price means that the service departments are busy but not making as much money.

Moores are selling both brands. They have been Peugeot for 50 years I think.

The Toyota sign looks far more dominant though now. The whole showroom and outside is red and white. The blue and yellow of Peugeot is gone :(
So I wonder are they still selling them new...
