Neurologist with EMT/Paramedic training and volunteering for HSE?

    Hey guys,

Med. student here, only first year. I have, however, done EMT training with one of the voluntary organisations, and have some experience with them but nothing major as I'm sure you can imagine.

However, I'm interested in neurology, but I love pre-hospital care. I actually have a friend who's a neurologist registrar, and he's trained as a paramedic, and we were both wondering about the possibility of a doctor specialising in neurology with some pre-hospital care experience maybe volunteering and doing shifts with the HSE or something, just because they have a love for it.

Does anyone think this is a possibility? I know you guys who do it every day of the week are the absolute experts in pre-hospital care, but would a doc with some experience be welcomed, and what's the story with it?
