It's almost 8gb total.

This is what I did:

1. Make an @live.com account with the country set to China, also make sure you put an alternate email or phone number for the security code
2. Log in on the link in the OP and download AC3.
3. It asked me to make my Xbox Live account, and to confirm my address and security code (either it's texted or emailed, whatever you provided).
4. Put in Shanghai for City and 100600 for Zip Code and you should be good.
5. You can now download it.
6. Log on to your Xbox 360, sign in to the account created, open up the guide, go to download history, and download AC3.
7. When it's done downloading, you can go on your main account and play.


Also just a few answers to questions that people will probably ask:

• Game is in English
• They can't, and won't ban you for this
• Anyone who's being asked to pay is either not signed in to the account, or didn't chose "China" when making it
• Any account on the Xbox can play it
• You get asked for Billing Info, but you can literally put anything in there (although use 01000 as zip code)
• They can't, and won't ban you for this, I've got accounts in 6 different regions, all from stuff like this.

Just did it there, no problems, must have entered things in the wrong place perhaps?

hmmm, I did everything correctly from the OP? it brings up the download confirm page and all, its just when I hit the download button I get that message.

Yeah, when I put the chinese error into google to find out what it meant I got a lot of threads back on various gaming and deal forums with people running into the same thing. Looks like I was minutes too late! :rolleyes:

would of been great to get the game. I was just too late. Started the process 25 minutes ago as well.

I reckon there is thousands of people trying to get the game and Microsoft just got wind. It really is a testoment to the old saying, "the more people know about something" :rolleyes:

Update:
Microsoft are aware of this and are currently putting a stop to it. People who have finished downloading are either asked to insert the disk or the file is corrupted.

A few people on NeoGaf are thinking someone reported it to Microsoft. But I just did a google search. Someone actually posted about it, and step by step how to get it, on the official UbiSoft forums ... :rolleyes:

From the neogaf thread it looks like, if you managed to create an account and start this loading but failed the download, migrating the chinese account to your own region will let you download the game successfully :pac:

If anyone started the download but didn't get to finish it, migrate your Chinese profile to Ireland the download will be available again in account management.

This sort of thing happens literally once in a blue moon. The last full game to be free, was fable 2 apparently back in ~2010 on the US marketplace. It was free for one day.
