I have an 05 corsa, sometimes she goes about 2 weeks without being driven as I work away.

I got into the car today and noticed a puddle one the drivers side rubber mat, I lifted that up to find that the whole carpet is saturated all the way up the beginning of the incline where the pedals are. water is leaking in but I'm
Not where from? Any ideas? I have the nct next month so need to get it sorted.

Next, would the car being idle cause the temperature gauge to take longer to move as in the engine takes longer to heat? I notice that it stays a third of the way between 0 and 80 an takes about 30 minutes or so of constant driving to get to move. Sensor issues?

    Thanks :)

The puddle could be a leak from the heater core or could be water getting in from the door seals.
Once a good bit of water gets in there it's very hard to dry it up.
The temperature gauge could be low coolant which would stand up to the leaking heater core.
    Check the coolant level.

As above, check the coolant level first, ifs it low or gone altogether then you know you have a leak and, together with your wet foot well, the heater rad would seem a likely cause.

I thought it was just the foot well but the back of the drivers seat is soaked too! Ill be bringing her to the mechanic in two weeks so hopefully it will get sorted

See attached- I pressed on the floor to see if water went onto the ground.
