Loads of similar threads in the past on various forums (Here,Mobile, and CS) and all the same result, the networks do not promise (or deliver) 100% coverage and they have sooo much experience with this kind of issue, that they have it well covered in the T&C.

If the customer is in a remote (or even just non-urban area) checking coverage would seem prudent before lashing out on an expensive 18 month contact.

Coverage would then to be near perfect in major urban areas, but I know some houses in Dublin, perfect signal in garden, but nothing inside the house.

My wife's folks house, in Marino, is a black spot for me. No phone coverage at all. But, that wouldn't be a reason to get out of a contract.

My home (Dublin 11) has perfect coverage for me (on Vodafone), but my wife is on Meteor and has very poor reception inside.

Operators base their coverage on population basis, not geographic locations. They promise x% population coverage. So, within the Dublin area, they can cover a large part of that, without having to provide coverage in every part of Dublin.

The new 4G rollout by operators should help phone coverage, since the new frequencies will have better penetration rates for buildings.
