Travel Pass without claming Disability Allowance?

    Hi guys,

I recently went for an eye test because I wanted to start getting driving lessons, but found out that my periphery vision isn't at an acceptable level to satisfy the criteria for driving.

I don't want to claim Disability Allowance as I have a job, and don't feel I require it, but would I be able to apply for a travel pass without applying for the full Disability Allowance?

I know it may seem like a strange thing to ask but I've checked out welfare.ie and it wasn't very clear.

You must be getting a quaifing payment from the dept in order to get a travel pass.
