Post Office closed today - Good Friday

    I went to the Post Office to collect my dole and it was closed. The Dept of Social Protection were also closed when I phoned. I had no idea the Post Office would be closed. Will they open tomorrow? And will I be given my dole? I am meant to get it Wed - Friday.

    Was to collect dole on Tuesday but due to being ill headed down to collect today and they were closed, really hoping I will still be able to collect tomorrow... I've collected one Friday before so heres hoping Today isn't counted as a working day :\

    Post Offices are always closed on Bank hols and Good Friday is one!! It'll be open 2morro...

    Good Friday is not a Bank Holiday.

    Good Friday is a Bank Holiday because the Banks are closed! It is not a Public Holiday!!!!!

    Only the banks and post offices are closed on a bank holiday, although other smaller business may choose to close as well. Everywhere is closed on a public holiday. Where the confusion arises is that in most cases the two are the same days. Good Friday is one of the exceptions.
