Road temperature

    some of the road temps today are in the 15C-20C range. Presumably this is caused by direct sunshine on the road, although the air temp is 3C.

    As these roads may freeze tonight, this illustrates the problems of tyre design, even in temperate Ireland.

    I've always wondered about the feasability of installing Road Temp sensors on cars. I know nothing about the electronics behind it, but there are "laser" thermometers that you point at a surface, and it reads back the temp of that surface to you. Could something similar be installed in the underbelly of cars?? Hmmm.

    Sorry, neither here nor there, just brain dumping.
