Tayto Park are in serious trouble at the moment.

The animals are badly stressed out and their cages /pens are too small for them.

My daughter noticed before Christmas how bad some of the animals were and seemed to be behaving in cramped conditions

I thought it was awful, you would be as well going to Newbridge House, big park, free play area and then pay something like €2 into the farm...as for the poor friggers working in the factory, bad enough to be stacking boxes all day with loads of peeps staring into ya

Seems it may not be the bargain it appears to be, I hadn't heard the reports about the animals: I just heard it was a good day out but was expensive.

According to the article things have been rectified now and that the ban has been lifted. If there was issues in the past, doesn't mean their still is as your post suggests.
"We believe Tayto Park is now in full compliance with all conditions imposed on its licence". In answer to questions from the Irish Independent, a Tayto Park spokesman provided a letter from the Department of the Arts and Heritage – sent to Mr Coyle on March 11 – that gave the zoo permission to bring in new animals.

Why did you go back the 2nd time? What didn't you like about it? (Never been).

Had to pay for quite a few rides.....even after paying in at the admin desk.

Animals were in very confined spaces and in clear distress..which none of us liked seeing...especially my daughter.

They also fecked things up on us at Christmass time when we paid to go and see Santa there.

So 2 times was 2 times too many, the christmas feck up was the last straw for me.

Even my daughter doesnt want to go back there either...so that says it all for me.
Wont be going back and giving them any of my/our money to them again.

Do adults actually pay into these places. What entertainment is there for adults?

I was there last year, off peak early afternoon, the park wasn't that full but still we were still queuing for 5-15min per ride. I'd say it will be jammed this weekend. So expect longer.

For adults they have a climbing wall, high obstacle course, factory tour and zoo. I see zipline on the map but I cant remember that.
<edit>Just to note these are not included in the price. I think it was an extra €3-€5 more pp.

    Another thread on here.

I have to say my kids love tayto park. Yeah its a little bit expensive but we only would go once a year and they never stop talking about it all year and. I also join in on the zip line climbing wall sky walk its great craic. Wish i had a place like that when i was younger.
You spend the whole day there so when you work it out its not that bad value for money.

Im with this, dont live too far from there. we go once-twice a year, the sky walk is great craic and as many adults as kids on it but was slightly irked the first time I seen the extra cost of the skyrides. Even the 2-3e it costs to get on the things keep the queues down on them. theyre the best things in the place.

Is it value for money? debatable, my 3 love it, but they love going to newbridge house, malahide castle and ardgillen and phoenix park as well. Deffo worth a trip to tayto park but its up to yourself whether you think its value for money. Just about for me as long as its only once a year as something different.

restaraunts are decent and not ripoff prices. place is very clean and friendly the times Ive been there.

havent been to clara lara in years... back on my "whatll we do today kids" list
