    Hi all,
Just wondering is there anyone here who put in a stove and back boiler along with geothermal? I assumed there would be no need as we will be having underfloor throughout with no radiators. Builder is concerned that geo may not be sufficient to heat house and we may aswell make the most of our stove?? He also wants to run a pipe for oil JUST INCASE geo ever breaks down!! Is this madness?? It is in my opinion but I'm finding it hard to get my point across ;( any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Builder doesn't know what he is talking about ? Plus how would you plumb/connect 90 degree water from an immersion in your stove to your underfloor system ?!!

Ha ha!! Please don't ban me muffler or ill never get this house built :) It's true though... I don't claim to be any sort of expert- far from it infact! But I will do my research and make informed decisions with the help of many people. I caught the end of a Grand Designs programme last week and at the end they asked the woman if there's anything she would do differently and she replied 'yes I would find a lady builder as the men don't want to listen to women'. Unfortunately there aren't too many lady builders around this neck of the woods!!! :)

Have to agree to an extent anyhow. Over the years I have discussed various aspects of design, planning and construction with various clients and to be fair the more "determined" clients were mostly women. Most people in the actual construction business will admit that they would rather deal with a man which I suppose is a poor reflection on us males in a way :)
