Do you believe that 9/11 was an inside-job?

Firstly, I'm not a conspiratorialist and do not believe that 9/11 was an inside job. But the reason I've constructed this thread is to get to the wider audience as opposed to the minority audience of the forum for conspiratorialists and second, to gauge the opinion of boardsters on this matter via a poll.

I personally wouldn't trust the US government with a glass of water but don't think persuasive evidence exists to point the finger at the US government let alone exculpate the real perpetrators of this heinous crime.

I believe the US government was completely complicit with the crime.

It'd say it was an outside job.

No, I don't believe the US was involved in the deaths of 3,000 of their own citizens. I do believe however that they exploited the situation and the anger of the American public to launch an assault on Iraq.

Yeah, that's pretty much where I am. For example, the PNAC involvement in Clinton's administration and then in power with Bush's administration, seems all too convenient a 'new pearl harbour' to exploit.

What kind of government can condone killing thousands of their own civilians? Of course it wasn't an inside job.

That, patriotism took a massive bump post-9/11. Fox News must have thought it was a gift just for them.

You must be surprised then with [so far] 45% of people believing in US involvement in some way, even passive.

I think it was. Too much contradictions in the official reports.. and the US had reasons to organise it

    Anyone here seen Zeitgeist?

I think he's referring to the War on Terror which was instigated from 9/11, thus involving both countries.

EDIT: Am I the only one now seeing 5 options on the poll after the vote?

The "neo-cons" made a (knowingly wrong) link between the nutters in the mountains and Saddam if you remember

Wasn't there intelligence gathered in the US during 2001 which hinted at an impending attack?

Obviously they didn't know enough in time.

No I don't think it was an inside job. They could've known that they were going to be attacked somewhere at some point though.

I think it was an inside job by conspiracy theorists to make a fast buck off the gullable.

You mean 'Conspiratorialists', adding the word 'theorist' adds a nuance of legitimacy I think.
