Too much politics involved in it.

WRC is boring...and has been for a fair while now.

The WRC is barely relevant anymore. It's not even on telly FFS! And no offence OP but you're argument is about 5 years old.

The ERC is where it's at at the moment. 8 different manufacturers, 10 different types of cars. Plenty of decent drivers not just one dominating and making the rest look like also-rans. It's also got Subaru and Mitsubishi, albeit Group N.

The WRC lost it's way years ago, and shame on the FIA for not trying to do something about it.

WRC has to sort its TV coverage out but I think its becoming really exciting once again.
Loeb did manage to make WRC a bit boring as he was just so unbeatable. Now that he's gone, its like a new sport again. Its like when the Schumacher era ended in F1. There are lots of new upcoming drivers such as Mads Osberg, Novokov, Nuivelle who show future potential. VW has added a good amount of competition as now there are 3 fully manufacturer backed teams in WRC now along with Citroen and Ford and Hyundai has announced they'll be coming into WRC next year as well.

Group B is a thing of the past and is never going to come back to the WRC. Environmental regulations won't allow it to happen and Manufactures just aren't prepared towards spending as much in racing anymore to develop limited purpose built homologated machines and compete with one another at such a high level.

WRC is still very exciting to watch and even the small 1.6l 300hp turbo hatchbacks are fun to watch going sideways. It'll be nice to see big names such as Subaru and Mitsubishi back in the sport but it currently seems to be very unlikely. WRC has greatly improved over the past couple of years after a few dull years during the Loeb domination. It just needs to take some lessons from America's World Rally Cross championship towards how to make the sport more popular with the audience through excellent TV coverage and then WRC could become just as popular as F1.

This man has alot to do with WRC aswell as Prodrive and various other motorsport ventures.

Im sure he has made his millions upon millions by selling off his ownership rights of the WRC and its TV rights.

Loeb was exactly like Schumi in F1 - yes yes they're fast racers but they also enjoyed the status of being driver no. 1.. like always

Would be great to see them back in the sport. The more works teams the better. All great points about Leob, and unfortunately having (arguably) the best driver the sport has ever seen has possibly taken the excitement out of it for many. Not his fault the others just were not up to his level.

With regards Colin......How many WRC titles did Colin win again????

    1.

Not exactly what I would call great over his timespan in WRC.

mcrea would have had at least 2 more wr championships if the subaru hadnt let him down on the last round twice while leading handing the title to makinen both times i think, taking nothing away from tomi he was a great and class to watch on the limit driver also, as were most of the drivers of that era the best time in rallying bar none i think

I think dave got it spot on the last season they did it. An hour long highlights package at 6pm sunday evening with the right mixture of features and action. (After they ditched that guest celebrity nonsense).

I wouldn't judge a driver by the number of titles he has, rather by the way he has driven for most/all of his career.

I think they should bring back Group B rules, would be much safer these days with crowd control. It would be interesting to see what manufacturers could do if they had more freedom. And the 200 road going examples would be fun too!!!
