    Hi,

Getting a new patio which will be 17 meters sq including steps. I need to provide the patio slabs, builder will provide the rest of the materials. Have a budget of 500 max and am clueless about types of materials.
All I know is indian sandstone and that it can be quite porous !

    I am looking for :
    Something low maintenance
    A plain design
    Ideally a rectangle slab
Something that will last and is not too tricky for the builder to work with.

    Any suggestion? Based inDublin

go to a garden centre that deals in patio stone, like the patio centre on johnstown road in cabinteely, But there is a good few of these places around,

I agree - see the stuff in a display, you'll get an idea of what you like.

Roadstone on Belgard Road have a fantastic range of displays, and are very helpful with advice.

(I've no connection to them, btw, just a happy customer on a couple of occasions)

Thanks for all the replies....I like the black limestone and also silver granite( which is probably out of my budget)
Is limestone easy to work with ? Easy for cutting steps etc?
