+1 for mc donagh in the kesh!! Or george burton nitractorspares! Although that sounds about the right price for an engine from what a neighbours cost last year!!

I'd imagine conaty would be right with his price as he's fairly clued in,he'd probably have that engine on the shelf.

i dont know rightly but started to heat up. bought new headgasket. got injectors done.the head was pressure tested and all was sound, and then started to heat up and using coolent again in few weeks time. found out coolent was mixing with oil and local mechanic said to put 2 drums of engine sealer in and we did but started to boil up again yesterday and blows coolent out the rad cap. also oil level would be mad high on dipstick.

(basically in a nut shell the coolent is mixing with the oil and tractor is heating up)

if its an ih engine its likely to be one of the liners as they sometimes go at the bottom where the seals are.

it is the ih model. piston and liners kit 300 pound from the north mcdonagh said to me. decent of him to mention that to me instead of telling me it was fooked and spend 1500 for an engine. mechanic is in spain for the easter but looks as tho ill buy the kit and replace the liners etc when he is home. thanks case956
