    Hi folks,
My 2007 Scenic standard issue radio has stopped working. Nothing happens when I turn it on and nothing on the dashboard LED display.
I have changed the 15A fuse from the fusebox in the glove box.
    Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks.

What model no. is written on the side of radio. I presume you have checked for blown fuse. Your radio has 2 x 12v supplies to power it on so you have 2 fuses to check out .

The radios in renaults of this age are prone to failure because of the cold (im not kidding)
Do a quick google and you will see loads of info on it. I had it happen to an 07 clio last winter. But obviously check for fuses and power and loose connections first.

I have been repairing radios for almost 40 years and this is the firsr time I have heard of a radio suffering as a result of the cold .

there are 2 fuses for the radio,if they are both ok then take the radio out and disconnect the leads at the rear of the radio.
check for power on the red & the yellow wires. if ok reconnect the leads. if the radio powers up again and 0000 appears on the inst panel then the fault is in the radio. i have changed dozens of these radios with the same symtoms, all of which were covered by renault when they were outside of the warranty period. there is what renault call a 'yellow' OTS on some models for this fault. contact your renault dealer with your details and they can check on the renault ICM system whether your car is covered.
i have also changed some instrument panels for the same fault.

It can be a help to a radio to disconnect the power for a few minutes. If after re-connecting the power that your radio display is showing 0 0 0 0 then it has powered on and is ready to accept the security code.

    Thank you all.
I disconnected the radio completely and reconnected all wires. It now works, although it did require the code (obviously).
I'm wondering why you say there are two fuses ? In the glovebox, where you have to pull the fuse box down from the top (very awkward), the radio symbol would appear to relate to just one 15A fuse.

One fuse is to retain all memory functions. Second is the acc supply through your ignition.
