Each day on the radio the likes of Pat Kenny, Ryan Turbidy and Joe Duffy use whats in the news as a discussion point for their shows.

So will any of them be brave enough today to discuss their own wages, since it was a big news story yesterday?

    Somehow can't see it.

It was danced around with a bit on The Late Debate last night.

Its hilarious the way they won't on radio but run a decent package on the telly about it.

Wonder where Pat is this weather? ;)

To be fair, Myles Dungan made a big point of it earlier on PK show when he was talking to Pat Rabbite.

This article about the BBC is 18 months (12 July 2011) old but must still be in the right ball park
    http://www.standard.co.uk/news/bbc-pays-274-stars-sixfigure-salary-6421100.html

The number in the £250,000 to £500,000 salary bracket has also risen, from 26 to 33, according to BBC accounts published today.

An organisaiton the size of the BBC has 33 people in that category while RTE has 10???? What are RTE upto?

Matt Cooper is discussing this now.

Email sent, it won't get read!

Don't expect Matt or any of the other station hosts to be too critical. All of them would like to get on the RTE gravy train at some stage and in a way their own salary would be sort of pegged to those in RTE.
The suits in RTE are also not that bothered by high salaries as again their salaries are pegged to the rest as well.

It's funny how none of these stars have left given how we were always told how they would be prized elsewhere.

Stephen Price. His response is predictable.A chimp could do Joe Duffy's job and indeed they do late at night on certain radio stations:)
Marian Finnucane doesn't bother to even research for her few hours anymore. It's glaringly obvious if you listen.
These are all media hacks scratching each others backs. None will rock the boat and will go to great pains to say how difficult these jobs are.
edit: Sorry just saw your own edit.

Back in 2009, when Gerry Ryan and Tubridy were holding out against a 10% pay cut, Morning Ireland sent one of their reporters to interview Tubridy in the studio where he was preparing for his show. Tubridy was highly indignant.
