Car registration book for NCT

Hi anyone know if you have to have your car registration book with you when you bring your car in for the nct?

In short, yes.

Long version, you probably asked because you can't find it or don't have it. Sometimes they don't ask to see it.
If they do make sure to have at least ID. They may still test it.

Yep I've lost it (well im hoping its in work, tore the house apart looking for it) I had it when I made the booking as I needed the registration date. Ill have my driving license anyway, hopefully they will let me away with it. Thanks for your reply

Is that for a first nct? I've done several over the last two years, thought you only needed identification?

Money and licence (in that order!) is all I am asked for whe I bring the cars in for NCT

Has the same problem last November, chanced it and had no issues, they asked for my license and money and that was it.

I got my car tested last week and they asked for my book and licence. I think it depends on the tester and whether they feel arsed about asking and some usually don't.

You have I think 28 days to produce it after the test if they ask for it. I had my test last month and wasn't asked to see the registration; just my ID.

Wasn't asked for it in the end, just needed my license. I rang the nct centre before hand and they said you should have it with you and if not you must produce it within 30 days of the test.
