Internship and Partner Staring working

Hope some one can help me. My self and and my partner are both currently on job seekers allowance, both with independent claims but stating that we are cohabiting, so we are means assessed.

I am due to start a Jobs-bridge internship in two weeks, and my partner is due to finish a course in May and will be hopefully starting work. So my question is, if he manages to get full time work, while I am still on my internship how will my payment be effect or will it be effected.

Your claim will have to be reassessed when he starts work. The rate on Job Bridge is your entitled rate plus €50. If his income would make you not entitled to a payment you could switch onto credits and then you would only get the extra €50.

Thanks for your response, I am so confused by the whole thing as once on an internship I can work part time for another company with out it effecting my payment so I taught it would be the same if he starts to work. It would be strange that I could work all I want and he can't.

You can work while on the internship. Any paid employment days would have to be signed off.
