Peter Ebdon: a bad workman always blames his tools?

"It's really disappointed to lose the match. The ball is so light that the shot usually goes wide. The World Snooker changed the ball recently, which I cannot get used to"

But two lads who had NO problems with balls were Jack Lisowski and Judd Trump... I feel genuinely sorry for anybody that missed this absolute CLASSIC. It was snooker at it's absolute zenith. Frames averaged about 10 minutes each and both players (Lisowski in particular) looked like the couldn't miss a pot if they wanted to.

GREAT to see Lisowski finally seems to be making the breakthrough. These guys are the future, Ebdon is the past. And what's not to love about that?

Hopefully he retires because of this, he's the most boring player in the history of the sport.

I like Ebdons play, he's got less talent than probably most of the players in the T128 but maximises his chances with a topnotch safety game and by knuckling down in the really scrappy games where '20 break and safe' is all the table offers and the 100 break merchants make silly mistakes.

Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be a particularly nice person.
Contrast with Mark Selby who to an extent plays a fairly Edbonesque game, but when you do it with a smile on your face its easier to be a crowd favourite.

Robertson beat Selby 10-6 in the final. Interesting final frame which took nearly an hour with an initial rerack - the second go saw Robertson make a series of small breaks which left Selby needing 5 snookers with 3 reds left. There followed an absolute exhibition of laying snookers and use of angles by Selby (coupled with some poor escape attempts by Robertson) to get it down to 1 snooker before Robertson got over the line.
