My sister in law is flying over for Easter and I need to book the family in for a nice Sunday lunch somewhere in Roscommon/Athlone. We are staying in a B&B in Lecarrow so can go either way.
Would like a really nice meal.. not too expensive!

    Any help appreciated!

Is the Yew Tree in Lecarrow still open?

    Otherwise it is the usuals:
    - Olive Grove in Athlone
    - King Khao Athlone
    - Wineport in Glasson
    - Fatted Calf Glasson

Wineport and Fatted Calf would be a bit more costly. Olive Grove can be good and King Khao may not be to everyones taste but is nice food and reasonable price.

Other options could be Hodson Bay Hotel for a carvery, Grogans Pub in Glasson or Sheraton Hotel.

Regan's in Roscommon town opened a new restaurant called Quentin's.Its on the same premises as the bar but separate from the bar/pub food.

The Abbey hotel do a lovely carvary and also have the restaurant open and do a bar menu, all at different costs. Regans is supposed to be lovely too and Gleesons on the Square in Roscommon is nice too. They're the main ones in Roscommon town.

    Jackson's is closed.

In Roscommon town there's Horan's, the Peppermill, Moma's, Quentin's, the Italian, Gleesons and the Abbey.

    Quentin's is my current favourite.

There's two Chinese restaurants, an Indian, kfc, supermacs and other take aways.
You can get carvery dinners in the garages.
And two lovely cafes-Comfy Cafe and Molloys.

    Spoiled for choice!
