Clio II can only select 5th after a knock

The misses had a small accident in her clio, only a small bump she said... Anyhow, the clio can only select 5th gear. Linkage looks fine. Someone told me that if i take off the end plate of the gearbox there should be a cog or something out of place... Anyone any experience of this?
