Has anybody else out there played this game. I've been asking loads of people lately but they all have no recollection of this game..

Anyway would you want to see a modern sequel? I would considering I couldn't get past the early levels of the game.

Also some sound effects to refresh your memory:

Yes, it's a well known game - indeed it's getting a HD remastering very soon. There was also a direct sequel (Abe's Exodus) and two more games in the Oddworld franchise - Munch's Odyssey and the positively fantastic Stranger's Wrath.

Unfortunately the developer went under after the sales failure of the latter, but the HD releases of the games could possibly see a sequel being greenlit somewhere down the line.

I wouldn't particularly want a sequel, but more a reboot would be cool

You and me both but I guess I will go back to it yet again at some stage, still very playable.

Great game. Took me ages to finish, easy to make one small slip up and have to start the path over again!

Actually Oddworld Inhabitants are still around they just left the games industry after getting disillusioned with it after how EA treated them with Stranger's Wrath. They focused on special effects for a time but are kind of trying to get back into games again.

One of my favourite games ever! I recently sat down with a walk through in order to get the alternative ending for saving all 99 mudokons! Don't think it's possible to find all the secret areas without the walk through!

Ahhhh Abe's Odyssey. Had a demo of it when I first got the PS and would play it over and over, finally got the game a few years later and loved it!

Played Abe's exoddus around a year ago, took me a few days to complete it. Very good although nowhere near as challenging as I found it as a kid. There's only a few hard parts that just take a bit if persistence. Very enjoyable game though and it is quite long.

I loved it and played all four to varying degrees of success. It was such a well designed world of colourful creatures and vistas and drew you in as a younster. Must pick up the hd versions on psn although maybe they might come to plus soon.

Got it there a few months ago on PSN - not sure if it was plus or I paid for it but on my machine now - am pretty useless at it - memory is a great thing...

I haven't played PS1 in ages tho may boot up the 'ol PS2 I'd be too afraid to turn on the grey PSX in case it'd break :)

Not only have i played them, i still own my copies of the first game and exodus.
They were fantatsic but i dont think i would of ever got the good ending without my fathers help.

I recently bought strangers wrath for the vita which looks gorgeous and bought xbox game off psn.

Great puzzlers and am looking forward to the hd remastered game when it comes out

Sorry for being thick, but when you say it's being re-mastered, is it being released as a game for Playstation? As in, is it a new game or is it a re-release of the original?

I liked this game-can't say I loved it because I got so frustrated by it.
I didn't get very far at all with it and, if I'm being honest, I was always a bit scared by it! Haha

I did love the sounds though "MERGHH" "FOLLOW ME" "FART"

Meself and a mate played through it in the summer there. Saved 91 (RIP to the 8), great game. So funny and entertaining. One of the first games I remember playing on PS1
