possible to defer?

    Hi, does anybody know if it is possible to defer year two of a two year masters? there aren't any exceptional circumstances just financial reasons! thanks for any responses.

    Yes it should be. Here are the guidelines for withdrawl from College: http://www.tcd.ie/undergraduate-studies/academic-progress/off-books-re-admissions.php You will need to apply to the Senior Lecturer via your tutor.

    It didn't seem to specify, so I'm not sure. If it's a research master's it might even be easier for you personally -- you won't miss the routine of going to lectures, etc., but from a bureaucratic point of view I doubt it will be much harder.

    Why not just ask your supervisor or someone in the school office?

    thanks for reply, I haven't started the masters yet so don't have a supervisor, it is 2013 intake and I don't want them thinking I am starting it with the intention of deferring the second year, I have enough savings to get me through the first year but i'm struggling to see how I could afford the second year, my husband is in college also and we're not entitled to any financial support so it would be very difficult. I really want to do it though!
