Hi Guys. What you make of this Charade, good or bad buy. Looking at it as a run a bout for the missus. I know they are based on the excellent Yaris, but are they up there with the Yaris or does it lag behind. They seem to be cheaper than the Yaris on similar vintage, but is there a reason for this other than the badge?

Also I think Daihatsu are gone from Ireland (possibly Europe), so could that make them a more expensive long term proposition in terms of parts availability and pricing?

Maybe I should be holding out for a Yaris or similar.

    Cheers for the reply.
Is the Getz reliable and economic (I know the Yaris is, but the prices reflect this)?
I think they are 1.1L right, what tax band are they in?
What are they like in general?

They are taxed on engine size and should be cheap enough. Cheap to run and economical.

They are a bit bland but perfectly fine.

You would be better off with it's bigger brother, the daihatsu sirion. The Sirion is about the same size as a Yaris and the Charade is smaller than both. Have no fear of quality, to answer your question, not only are they up there with the Yaris but they are also a nicer car imo than the yaris they are based on.(The Sirion that is)
