    hey guys and galls
i hope im posting this in the right place! Anyway i have two of these goverment christmas cards one dating 1964 and one 1965 there is a little irish message printed inside and underneath is signed (not sure if its a printed signature or not) by eamon de valera and a picture of the gpo on one and aras an uachtarain on the other. Im just wondering if anyone would know anything about these? or where could i get more information about these am hoping they are worth a small fortune :) but not getting too excited :)!!

Mealy's in Castlecomer have an auction of Irish ephemera in July see here: http://fonsiemealy.ie and the Christmas cards are something that they might be interested in. You could do worse than give them a ring (056) 444 1229 :)

OP, just bear in mind that Dev became Taoiseach in 1932 and he retired as president in 1973, that's a period of 41 years during which he would have signed thousands of official documents, personal letters and Christmas cards. I know he was in opposition for some of those years but he was more often in than out of office.

The poor man was effectively blind in the later years so I'd say the chances that he was able to sign anything in the 1960s was nil.
