I was sure its a no no but I said I'd ask here cuz there are a lot of dog people on here so dose any one know if its outlawed or not thanks lads

You cant get it done. I have doberman pinchers for while now and even if it was legalised in morning i wouldnt get it done. Cant see what benefit it would have for a hunting dog. I have seen dobs before with wonky ears that werent wrapped properly and ontop of mutilating the dog there is no one in this country with experience of cropping ears and changing the bandages so could see alot of hardy young lads walking around with their staffs and mastiff and dobes with wonky ears

I had Dobes and Gt Danes and I can understand why it was done.
The ears are very fine and delicate and easily prone to injury as I found out with my Dobermann who decided to pick a fight with a Lab.
Who bit the Dobe a few times in the ears..Getting these ears to heal is a nightmare, and if the dog shakes his head, your house will look like Freddy Kruger called over for tea!!!. Micro, minor and large drops of blood go everywhere!! I could have rented the house to a CSI course for detecting blood patterns!
So obviously ear cropping was done for some practical reasons, and not just from a look or fashion motive. But obviously no one can or will do it here legally anyway.
BTW it took over 200 punts to repair the dobes ears and repaint the house as well.

as far as im concerned cropping and or docking is just owner vanity.
adds nothing to the animal but shows how inhumane we can be.

surely you don't think docking a working spaniel's tail is vanity on the part of the owner?
